The Caring Parent’s E-Bike Survival Guide, Second Edition, has officially launched and surged to the #1 Ranking on Amazon in three critical categories:

  • Consumer Guides
  • Parenting Reference
  • Education Reference

Why the High-Visibility Red?

The e-bike world is moving at high velocity, and the stakes for our children couldn’t be higher. Beth Black chose Survival Guide Red for a reason: this isn’t a book for the coffee table. It is an essential tool designed to be within arm’s reach—on your garage workbench, your car’s dashboard, or your nightstand—wherever your family needs e-bike guidance.

Right now, many manufacturers are prioritizing top-end speed over your child’s safety. This guide is how you take back the lead.

What the Experts are Saying:

In the realm of injury prevention, Beth Black’s work is revolutionary. Rather than relying on legislation alone, families can more effectively address the challenges of e-bike safety with this clear, practical roadmap.”

— Gwen Froh, Program Director, Marin Safe Routes to Schools

“A powerful bridge between knowledge and action. This book stands out by integrating the latest research on how to effectively engage and motivate young people. It is a timely and essential resource with the potential to protect futures.”

— Paige Colburn-Hargis, Founder of MyGreyMatterz.org

From the Book: The Abridged Rider Conduct Contract

Parents can help their children develop a clear understanding of expected behavior. More than that, they can invite them into the conversation to help decide what will keep them safe … and what consequences they should expect for misconduct. When kids help develop the rules, they’re more likely to take ownership of their responsibilities. The free download below is the abridged version that provides a good basic start to creating your own rider behavior contract. Download this, print out copies, and sit down with your family to have a deeper conversation that covers important bases. Then, put it in writing and have a parent and child sign and date it. Remember to revisit it together, once in a while.

FOR FAMILY, FRIENDS, AND NEIGHBORS

Across the country, the conversation around e-bikes often sounds the same: frustration over reckless riding, calls for stricter crackdowns, and a growing divide between teen riders and their communities. At the Bellemont Project, we believe safety requires structure — but structure without connection rarely lasts.

True safety isn’t mandated from the top down; it is cultivated from the ground up. At the Bellemont Project, we align our strategies with the Annie E. Casey Foundation’s framework of “community context,” recognizing that effective e-bike safety cannot exist in a vacuum.

By building diverse coalitions — spanning local schools, law enforcement, first responders, local business owners, cycling clubs, neighbors, friends, parents, and the riders themselves — we move beyond ineffective enforcement to create a lasting culture of responsibility. We don’t just solve the “e-bike problem”; we strengthen the community ecosystem that prevents the problem, ensuring that safety becomes a shared civic value rather than just a rule to be followed blindly.

A recent insight from the Annie E. Casey Foundation (AECF) on “Grounding Youth Well-Being in Community Context” offers a powerful framework that mirrors our own Six-Point Plan. The core lesson? Sustainable change happens when you embed the community’s voice, values, and history into the solution.

Build a Safer Community Together

The Bellemont Project provides the framework and guidance necessary to move beyond reactive enforcement and start building sustainable, community-led solutions.
