We have designed a powerful six-point plan for e-bike safety that includes: (1) compliance motivation, (2) consumer awareness, (3) policies and communications best practices, (4) informed enforcement, (5) infrastructure improvements, and finally, (6) developing e-biking as a sport practiced in safer spaces. While we recognize that many cities already have a basic bike-safety educational program in place, the Bellemont Project moves beyond the basics by providing effective initiatives toward each point in the plan.

Every community has at least eight stakeholder groups. To be clear, a "stakeholder" is any member of the community who is affected by e-bike safety. It could be the teen who rides, or it could be a pedestrian hit by that teen on an e-bike. It always includes the police who provide law enforcement as well as the ER doctors, paramedics and other medical professionals who deal with the aftermath of accidents.

Specific guidelines will be updated per current laws and standards.
