It's one thing to teach the rules of the road. It's another thing, entirely, to change immature mindsets.
Formerly called Scared Safe, the Incline Program offers compassionate, engaging, and authentic presentations from first responders, ER personnel, cycling safety educators, crash victims, legal experts, insurance pros, and more. When a teen or tween is cited for reckless riding, this behavior-management diversion program can make all the difference.
In accordance with classic instructional design principles, each segment of this modular program starts with presentations sharing stories and concepts, followed by honest discussion of those concepts, and concluding with thought-provoking exercises, such as A Letter to Loved Ones. We make it real for kids and their parents.
As part of our Incline Presenters Video Library, we are proud to include guest speakers from ABUS Inc., who will be sharing their personal insights explaining WHY helmets are so very important. A lot of safety experts will tell you how to wear a helmet. These ABUS speakers go beyond and reach the heart of the matter, so Incline Program participants and their families will truly appreciate the reasons why they should wear a helmet on every ride.
We are proud to present guest speaker Alex Hargis, from MyGreyMatterz.org, who shares the story of his own experience — a powerful lesson on WHY helmets are so very crucial on every ride. Participants seeing this important film in the Incline Video Library come to understand that an entire life can change in an instant. And that it could happen to anyone on wheels. Alex describes the long, painful and difficult path of recovery while pointing out that it all could have been prevented with a helmet.
We're lining up a library of presenters who can share their stories and advice to your e-bike riders. Whether program participants are planning to ride, getting started with an e-bike, maturing out of careless riding, or need to work through a diversion program, the Incline Program is the answer. E-biking youth and their families will be able to learn from the professionals AND those who have rolled down the path ahead of them. Our illustrious presenters include a paramedic from the Orange County Fire Authority, a pediatric surgeon, a legal expert, an insurance professional, and families of crash victims. All these and more, available in our private library for Incline Program participants.
